3. Kelumpuhan Tidur

4. Halusinasi Tidur
Halusinasi ini bisa sangat nyata dan menakutkan, muncul saat penderita mulai tertidur (hipnagogik) atau saat terbangun (hipnopompik).
5. Gangguan Tidur REM
Orang dengan narkolepsi memasuki fase Rapid Eye Movement (REM) lebih cepat dari biasanya. Ini menyebabkan munculnya mimpi intens yang tidak wajar dalam waktu tidur yang singkat.
Penyebab dan Diagnosis
Penyebab pasti narkolepsi belum diketahui secara pasti, namun beberapa teori menyebutkan faktor genetik, kekurangan hipokretin (neurotransmitter yang mengatur bangun dan tidur), hingga gangguan autoimun.
Diagnosis biasanya melibatkan tes tidur di laboratorium seperti Polysomnography (PSG) dan Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT). Penting untuk membedakan gejala narkolepsi dari gangguan tidur akibat kebiasaan begadang atau penggunaan stimulan—termasuk mereka yang sering terjaga semalaman untuk mengikuti siaran langsung pertandingan atau taruhan di platform judi bola online.
