Kebutuhan akan kehadiran Jenner menjadi semakin penting setelah Marselino Ferdinan menerima kartu merah dalam pertandingan sebelumnya melawan Laos di Stadion Manahan, Solo, Kamis (12/12/2024).

Karena kartu merah tersebut, Marselino dipastikan absen pada pertandingan kontra Vietnam. STY pun berharap Jenner dapat mengisi posisi yang ditinggalkan oleh pemain berusia 20 tahun itu.
“Saya ingin memanggil Ivar (Jenner), dan saat ini PSSI sedang berusaha untuk mendatangkan Ivar. Ia memiliki keinginan untuk bermain bagi Timnas Indonesia, tetapi klubnya belum memberikan izin untuk melepasnya,” ungkap STY.
Upaya ini menunjukkan tekad Shin Tae-yong untuk menjaga kekuatan tim menghadapi salah satu laga krusial di turnamen.
